To make handvo you only need 20 ingredients and 7 steps. Here is how you do that.

The ingredients needed to make handvo :

  1. Provide 1/2 cup Rice
  2. Provide 1/4 cup Chana dal
  3. Provide 1/4 cup Moong dal
  4. You need 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  5. Provide 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
  6. Prepare 1 tsp Grated ginger
  7. Use 2 Chopped green chilli
  8. You need 1/2 cup Curd
  9. You need 1 tsp Baking powder
  10. Use to taste Salt
  11. Prepare 1 tsp Sugar
  12. You need 1 cup Grated lauki
  13. Get 1/2 cup Grated carrot
  14. Use 2 tbsp Chopped coriander leaves
  15. You need 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  16. Provide 4 tbsp Oil
  17. Prepare 1 tsp Black mustard seeds
  18. Prepare 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  19. Take 1/2 tsp Asafoetida
  20. Use 10 - 12 Curry leaves

Steps to make Handvo :

  1. Soak rice and dal separately for 4 - 5 hours, strain it and blend to make a paste.Keep fermentation for 8 to 10 hours
  2. Add grated lauki,grated carrot,salt,sugar,curd,red chilli powder,turmeric powder,grated ginger,green chilli,coriander leaves,baking powder and lemon juice. and mix well.
  3. Heat oil in a pan add black mustard seeds,cumin seeds,asafoetida and curry leaves to crackle.
  4. Add the batter of handvo into the pan and spread it.
  5. Cover it and cook in a low flame for 15 mins.
  6. Flip it and now cook cook for fifteen mins in low flame.
  7. Cut the pieces and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
